Anyone who has lived in Chicago for an extended period of time knows that the weather here is temperamental and can change on a dime. The old joke goes “if you don’t like the weather, just wait – it will change soon enough.” Living in Chicago also comes with the expectation of extreme weather. The springs are usually cool and short, summers brutally hot and humid, autumns lovely but promising the arrival of colder days ahead, and winters usually long, cold and bitter.
